We Are Open!
Spring is here and signs of new life are all around us. I can't think of a better time to be opening Lifehouse. Individuals, businesses, churches and laborers have come together for a single purpose -- to open Lifehouse. The work of many hands, using tools of their trades and the gifts of their talents has transformed a house into a home. Many sacrificial financial gifts were given to help us purchase the necessary construction materials and furnishings. All of these people have huge hearts and hidden angel wings tucked neatly under their jackets!
Our real work is now just beginning as the young women are moving in, and we know that God will remain faithful to His promise of providing the future needs of Lifehouse just as He has done in the past. Right now we need to keep our pantry stocked with meat, cheese and dairy. Utility bills have to be paid and clothing for the pregnant women are needed. We will continue to need God's people to step up to offer their support.
As you sit and watch a bird build its nest this spring, or see the first dogwood bloom, let it be a reminder of the new life at Lifehouse and simply ask God "How can I help to ensure the future of Lifehouse and the new life that will come into this world because of their mission"? Without a doubt, I am sure that your answer will come. Please pray for all of us at Lifehouse and for the mothers and babies that will call Lifehouse "home".
The maternity home is, indeed, a home where you can live during all your months of pregnancy.
Our Mission
Lifehouse Maternity Home is a new community resource for women and families facing an unexpected pregnancy. We provide for the spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of pregnant and/or parenting teens and women and their children, both born and unborn, in a Christ-centered home environment.
Our name is intended to inspire hope for those looking for direction. If you would like to volunteer or lend support to this worthy cause, please contact us to discuss how you can make a difference.
The Womb Painting hangs in the entrance of the Lifehouse maternity home. It was painted in Portland, Oregon in 1983, and has found a permanent home at the Lifehouse.

"For you formed my
inward parts;
you knitted me together
in my mother's womb.
I praise you, because I am
fearfully and
wonderfully made;
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not
hidden from you
when I was being
made in secret,
intricately woven in the
depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my
unformed substance;
in your book were written,
every one of them,
the days that were
formed for me, when as yet
there were none of them."
Psalm 139:14-16 ESV
